GEORGIA REDRAWS DISTRICTS AFTER VOTING RIGHTS ACT GUTTED
Supreme Court ruling enables Southern states to suppress Black voter influence.
Georgia joins other Southern states redrawing congressional maps after the Supreme Court dismantled Voting Rights Act protections. Without federal oversight, states can now implement discriminatory redistricting that dilutes the political power of Black voters and communities of color. The legal guardrails against voter suppression have been removed.
